Remodeling in Weston
We remodel kitchens and bathrooms in Weston, and we take on full renovations and interior painting. Christhian comes to the house before anyone talks about a price.
One plan, 15,000 acres
The 15,000 acres that became Weston were first put together in the 1950s by Arthur Vining Davis, who owned the developer Arvida. Back then the place was called Indian Trace.
In 1978 the Indian Trace Development of Regional Impact was approved for more than 25,000 dwelling units, and later amendments cut that to 17,000. The first homes were finished in 1984, in Windmill Ranch and Country Isles.
Weston became a city on September 3, 1996.
Forty years of finishes
A Weston house from the late eighties or the nineties is on its first or second kitchen by now. The cabinet boxes are often still square while the fronts and the counter have given up.
That changes what a remodel looks like. Sometimes the layout stays and the surfaces go. Sometimes you want the whole room different. We look at it and tell you straight.
Almost every street has one
Weston is made of two development districts: Bonaventure and Indian Trace. The Indian Trace Community Development District has financed and run the water and sewer mains and the arterial roads since it was created in 1981.
On top of that, your own neighborhood has its association, and the standards are not the same from one street to the next. Association approval and a city permit are two separate things. Start the association paperwork early.
Weston runs its own department
Weston's Building Code and Permitting Services Department enforces the Florida Building Code along with Broward County regulations. It issues the permits and reviews the plans, and its own inspectors come out.
Alterations and renovations are their own permit category there.
What your job may need is part of the conversation at the visit.
Will you deal with our HOA?
We give you what the association asks for about the job and who will be on site. You submit it. Every association in Weston words its form a little differently.
Our kitchen is original to the house. Can the layout stay?
Often it can, and keeping it is a real decision rather than a default. We go through it with you at the visit.
Can you do the whole house at once?
That depends on whether you can live around it. Plenty of people do one part of the house at a time.
Do you hang wallpaper?
Yes. Wallpaper has its own service now, The Wall Pross.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Christhian works in English and Spanish.
